Tips:
Electronic Shutter Speeds: Single Frame Shooting -
L:
5 fps. / M: 10 fps. / H: 20 fps.
Tips:
While Sony A9 camera does have a Touch Screen, it does
not function in Touch Mode when you are navigating the
camera's menu system. It still requires you to use the Up/Down,
Left/Right navigating Toggle Button.
Tips:
The ELECTRONIC SHUTTER MODE only enables the camera to
shoot in a higher number of frames per second. Making this change
does not change any other aspect to how it functions, Ex. in
Audible Mode -vs- Silent Mode. ALSO, If you are
in Electronic Shutter Mode and you MOUNT a FLASH to the
camera's shoe horn, the camera will automatically shift to a
Mechnical Shutter. To make the ELECTRONIC SHUTTER MODE work properly,
go to the MENU screen and under SHUTTER TYPE, where you
will be able to change the shutter type to MECHANICAL SHUTTER.

-- UNCONFIRMED TIP --
Tips:
When a flash device has not been mounted to the Sony A9
camera's hot-shoe mount, the camera will operate undar all normally
available shutter speeds to the camera. To enable this same availability
of shutter speeds while using an external flash, the flash will
need to operate in a High-Speed
Sync. The Sony A9 camera will restrict
the shutter speed to nothing faster than 1/250 second if you
are using a flash device where the the HSS setting has been set
to OFF.

Tips:
Sony Flash: [HVL-F60RM] - Consuder setting the Flash in
MANUAL MODE, and the Power Level set at 1/8 power. I photographed
material on my couch two feet away from where I was sitting and
got a propper level of contrast in the image.
Tips:
Sony Flash: [HVL-F60RM] - Consuder setting the Flash in
MANUAL MODE, and the Power Level set at 1/2 powr. I photographed
random things in my apartment at about 10 feet away and near
the ceiling of the room, while sitting on the couch and again
I got propper lighting to the items being photographed.
Tips:
Flash: MANUAL > WIDE > HSS [OFF] > DISTANCE[ 8.2
- 10.0 Ft ] / Camera: Shutter Priority > Shutter Speed: 1/250 Sec.
> ISO: 1600 gives very good results.
Consider when photographing a headshot at 300mm, using Flash Settings:
TTL / AUTO Zoom Mode. Aadjust the Flash's Power Level, if needed,
through the Camera's Exposure Compensation Dial. For the
Camera, consider using Shutter Mode to lock in 1/250 sec. As
the flash will be in TTL Mode, you will be able to adjust the
flash's power, if necessary, by using the camera's +/- Exposure
Compensation dial.
